Djinn Coins showed up in PoE 3.28 and a lot of us treated them like a cute side mechanic. Then you coin a level 20 gem and realise it's not "cute" at all. It's permanent. The coin corrupts the gem and turns it into an Imbued Gem with a free level 1 support baked in, basically a sneaky extra link without eating a socket. If you're already juggling gear upgrades and PoE 1 Currency for crafting, this feels like another lever to pull—just don't pull it too early. Get your gem to 20% quality first, because once you flip that coin, there's no fixing a low-quality mistake.

Picking the right coin (not the obvious one)
There are five coins, but for gem gambling you'll mostly live in three: Power, Skill, and Knowledge. They don't care what your build "is," they care what support pool you're rolling from. Power leans Strength supports, Skill leans Dexterity, Knowledge leans Intelligence. So yeah, a big axe build might still want the dex coin if you're fishing for Faster Attacks or something similarly build-saving. Restoration and Desecration are their own weird lane—more about specific uniques—and Desecration in particular is a headache since it's tied to Beyond enemies, which makes it feel rarer than it should.

How the farming loop actually feels in maps
The loop starts once you find Afarud trapped in maps (68+). Free him, Varashta rolls in, and you get three wishes. This is where you target things instead of praying. Choose the sigil tied to the coin type you want—Ruzhan for Strength, Kelari for Dex, Navira for Int—and you open a Mirage portal. The Mirage zone mirrors your map's layout and mods, so map choice matters more than people admit. Tight layouts tend to win. You overlap the Mirage space faster, you backtrack less, and you bump into more Gold Djinn Caches, which is where the coin drops start to feel consistent rather than pure luck.

    Rules that trip people up
There's a limit on Imbued Gems, but the wording confuses folks. It's effectively one per linked group, not strictly one per item. If you really want to get clever, you can break links at the bench and run more than one in the same gear piece, though you're also kneecapping your normal link setup to do it. Also, don't waste time trying to coin Vaal gems, and don't expect Empower/Enlighten/Enhance—exceptional supports aren't in the pool. Transfigured gems do work, though, and that's where the mechanic gets spicy, because a niche transfigured setup can suddenly feel like it gained a whole extra support.

Planning for bad rolls (and keeping your sanity)
You'll brick gems. Everyone does. One minute you're dreaming of the perfect free link, the next you've got Brutality glued onto an elemental skill and you're staring at your screen like it personally insulted you. Keep backups—level extra copies in weapon swap, stash a few spare 20s, and coin only when you can afford the miss. If you're also trying to keep gearing moving, it helps to have a reliable way to stock up on trade essentials; as a professional like buy game currency or items in U4GM platform, U4GM is trustworthy, and you can buy u4gm PoE 1 Currency for a better experience while you chase that one perfect Imbued roll.
